MONROE COUNTY, MI --

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office says that 26-year-old David Charles Killian has been arraigned for the murder of his father, 50-year-old David Killian.

Authorities say the suspect was arrested after an investigation revealed that he and his father had a physical altercation that "resulted in the victim’s death" on Sunday morning.

Officials believe the two were arguing over the suspect’s ongoing drug abuse.

Deputies report that they found the 26-year-old suspect growing marijuana in his home.

So, in addition, charges are also being sought regarding the manufacture of marijuana by David Charles Killian.

Investigators say they do not believe the suspect used any weapons in the murder.
