PERRYSBURG TOWNSHIP -- Perrysburg Township Police have charged a man shot during a foot pursuit on Tuesday.

30-year-old James Scott Newman is now facing charges of Burglary and Possession of Criminal Tools.

Authorities said the Grand Rapids, Michigan resident was still hospitalized as of 7:30 Tuesday night with non-life threatening injuries.

Officials have not yet disclosed who shot Newman during their pursuit of him in a wooded area near Roachton Road.

Police were already in the area, following a string of recent home burglaries, when an officer allegedly saw Newman run into a nearby wooded area and followed him.
