TOLEDO -- Doing your taxes can be costly, but there is help.
The United Way of Greater Toledo is launching its free tax preparation program. The service is being offered in Lucas, Wood, and Ottawa counties.
Taxpayers can visit any of nearly 50 locations to get help from bank partners and tax preparers.
"Lucas County Commissioners and county officials are backing this program because it is reputable," said Lucas County Commissioner Tina Skeldon-Wozniak. "It is done for free and it's an opportunity to have money in your pocket and money in the community."
More than 2,600 people were assisted by the program in 2012. Anyone making less than $51,000 per year is eligible.
