Sub Zero Windchills at times thru mid-week
The bitter cold will be sticking around for much of the work week with windchills dipping well below zero at times through mid-week and the threat of some light, accumulating snows toward the end of the week.
Skies will remain mostly cloudy today with scattered flurries and snow showers. High temps will be cold - in the upper teens this afternoon. In additional to the cold the wind will gust to over 20 MPH at times and deliver feels-like temps in the single digits and below zero at times. Be sure to cover all exposed areas of skin if you're going to be outside for prolonged periods of time to avoid frostbite.
Overnight will be dangerously cold and a Windchill Advisory goes into effect at 10pm this evening. Overnight lows will fall into the single digits and with more in the way of wind the windchills will likely fall to more than -10 degrees!
Tomorrow will be the coldest day of the week with more clouds, flurries and wind around. High temps top out in the mid teens and windchills will be in the single digits and below throughout the day.
Sunshine will make an sppearance on Wednesday but the bitter cold will stick around. Under partly cloudy skies highs max out in the mid and upper teens.
We aren't done there - while high temps will get into the 20's Thursday and Friday it looks like we'll throw some light, accumulating snows into the mix late Thursday into Friday morning.
This is dangerous cold that can lead to frostbite and hypothermia - take all necessary precautions and be sure to keep an eye on the door when letting your pets outside as they won't want and shouldn't be out for long.
Have a great MLK Jr. Day!
