TOLEDO -- Toledo police dispatchers say North Detroit Avenue has reopened after a fire at the OmniSource Corp. scrap metal facility shut down the road near Laskey early Friday.

Firefighters battled the blaze for more than three hours. The fire was contained before 8 a.m., according to dispatchers.

OmniSource is a processor and distributor of scrap and secondary metals. The company collects, processes and resells a wide variety of scrap metal.

The cause of the fire is under investigation and no injuries have been reported.

In 2011, a debris pile at the same facility caught fire and caused more than $150,000 in damages. The fire was ruled unintentional. The other OmniSource plant on Hill Avenue also dealt with a debris fire last year after a mixture inside a machine overheated.
