Only two days after Adrian police asked for the public's help identifying a suspect who attempted to redeem stolen lottery tickets, the man caught on security camera has been identified, but apparently, he's not the real thief.

On Oct. 22, 2012, police report that a suspect or suspects broke into West Pointe Party Shoppe and stole the lottery tickets. After receiving several tips from community members, the man filmed trying to redeem the tickets at an Adrian Speedway was identified and is now cooperating in the investigation. Police say at this point, it appears the man did not know the tickets were stolen.

However, police say the identity of the suspect who committed the burglary has been determined and the investigation is ongoing at this time. Warrant requests are expected to be submitted to the Lenawee County Prosecutor’s Office before the end of the week
