TOLEDO -- Veteran news anchor, Jim Blue, will return as anchor of WNWO News at 6 p.m.

Blue, who will also serve as News Director, returns to the station over three years after leaving the market. With over 25 years of experience in journalism, he returns home from WFFT in Fort Wayne, Indiana, where he led an Emmy-nominated news team.

"I'm tremendously excited about rejoining WNWO at a time of incredible renewal at the station and in the community," said Blue. "We've all sacrificed in recent years to achieve a new vitality in our economy and in our city. Now I hope to build upon WNWO's recent successes and work to provide a fresh, independent journalistic voice in Toledo."

Blue first worked for WNWO from 2002 until 2008, reporting and anchoring alongside Jennifer Stacy and Shenikwa Stratford. He won the Ohio AP Award for Best Anchor in 2006.

"Jim's a great leader. He's got sharp news judgment, great instincts, and a strong moral compass," said Regional News Director Kathy Reynolds. "On top of that, he knows this market and as an anchor can put stories in context and explain their impact on our viewers."

Current WNWO News at 6 p.m. anchor, Angi Gonzalez, will welcome Blue to the anchor desk on Wednesday, Jan. 23. The pair will co-anchor the 6 p.m. newscasts Monday through Friday.
