Overwhelming support from the community, including businesses, media, celebrity bell ringers (including Toledo sports mascots Muddy and Spike) and a match from The Andersons resulted in The Salvation Army exceeding its goal for the 2012 Red Kettle Campaign.

The Salvation Army’s 2012 Red Kettle campaign collected $572,600.81, which surpassed the goal of $570,000.

The grand total includes the Red Kettle campaign results from all five counties that The Salvation Army Northwest Ohio Services serves: Lucas, Wood, Ottawa, Henry and Fulton. The money stays in the community where it was raised.

Because the need increases every year, so must the effort. The Andersons offered a $10,000 dollar for dollar match on December 13, 14 and 15 this year.  Local media provided celebrity bell ringers at key locations and encouraged support from their listeners and viewers.
