Toledo residents got their first of three chances Monday night to learn and ask questions about the city's proposed 2013 budget.

The mayor and other city officials addressed the small crowd gathered at the Reynolds Corner Branch Library on Dorr Street.

Mayor Mike Bell talked about plans to hire 50 more police officers, 30 firefighters and make improvements to 62 miles of roadways--all without raising taxes.

If you would like to learn more about the budget, there are two more meetings: One tonight at Grace Lutheran Church on Monroe Street from 6 to 8 p.m., and the final meeting on January 28 at the West Toledo Library.
