According to WLWT, a 22-year-old Wright State University student has died from complications from a strain of the flu.

The woman had the Influenza A virus and was hospitalized for four days before she died Tuesday. Officials are looking into her medical records to see if any other medical condition was a factor, but sources indicate she appeared to be healthy.

The flu outbeak has been spreading with a vengence across the U.S., with 41 states reporting widespread activity.  According to The Ohio Department of Health, the number of influenza-related hospitalizations almost tripled by early December. The current "level of flu activity is at "widespread," which means that there have been outbreaks of influenza and increases in influenza-like illness cases in at least half the regions in Ohio."

The CDC recommends everyone six months and older get vaccinated.
