TOLEDO -- The Lucas County Dog Warden is hosting its annual “End of the Year Adoption Extravaganza,” where over 20 select dogs will be up for adoption.

The event is Saturday from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. at the shelter located at 410 S. Erie Street.

Those looking to take home a furry friend will only have to pay $25 for a dog license. The fee includes initial vaccines; spay/neuter surgery, worming, microchip and registration, physical exam and behavioral evaluation.

“We currently have 90 dogs up for adoption, which is a new record,” said Dog Warden Julie Lyle.

Those who take advantage of the deal early will be eligible to receive a special prize for their pet.
