TOLEDO -- Days after being sentenced to serve a month in jail, radio personality Andrew Zepeda has been fired from his position as host of Star 105’s morning show “Andrew Z in the Morning: The People’s Show.”

Zepeda, along with four other show staffers including wife Michelle, were terminated by Cumulus Wednesday.

Just last Thursday, Zepeda was ordered to serve 30 days behind bars at the Wood County Justice Center for violating probation in his case related to the 2010 break-in at his former pizzeria business.

Cumulus Media Toledo Vice President Matt Spaulding confirmed the termination on Wednesday saying Zepeda is no longer a Cumulus employee. He did not say whether the firing was related to Zepeda’s recent legal troubles.

Zepeda is scheduled to report to the Wood County Justice Center on Jan. 21, 2013. After his release he will serve five years of community control. He is eligible to apply for work release during his sentence.

Spaulding said Star 105 will continue to provide vibrant personality to their northwest Ohio listening audience. No replacement has been named for Zepeda’s morning drive-time show.
