BOWLING GREEN -- Andrew Zepeda was sentenced to a 30 day jail term in the Wood County Justice Center on Thursday.

The decision was handed down by Wood County Common Pleas Court Judge Alan Mayberry.  In February 2011, Zepeda pled guilty, in Judge Mayberry's courtroom, to theft and breaking and entering in relation to the break-in of a Perrysburg pizza restaurant that he once owned.  At the time of his initial plea, Zepeda was given intervention and ordered to undergo treatment for alcoholism with the promise that if he stayed out of trouble his conviction would be erased.  But Zepeda violated certain stipulations of that agreement which was why he was in court Thursday.

In addition to the 30 day jail term, Zepeda was placed on probation for 5 years.  Judge Mayberry warned Zepeda that he had run out of second chances.  "If the rules that are imposed today are violated then you are further narrowing the options available to the court," Judge Mayberry said.

The stipulations of the community control are that Zepeda cannot consume alcohol and must avoid establishments where alcohol is served. If Zepeda violates those terms he would then be subject to 4 years in prison.

In brief remarks in court, Zepeda accepted responsibility for his actions.  "There were some mistakes on my part and I'd love to give you reasons but people see reasons as excuses nowadays, so I'm just saying I made bad choices," Mr. Zepeda said.

Zepeda is to report to the Wood County Justice Center on January 21.
