Rain, wind & mild temps today

A wild ride is in store weatherwise these next two days as a huge, game-changing storm howls in this afternoon.  A Wind Advisory kicks in at noon and a Winter Weather Advisory will be added this evening for the overnight.

Today will be spring-like with soaking rains and mild temps.  Highs will top out in the upper 40's this afternoon with rain coming down sideways at times as winds gust out of the southeast at up to 45MPH.  Both hands of the wheel when driving around town or on the highway.

Our seasons change in a hurry this evening as we start to get into the wintery part of this massive and strengthening storm system.  Temps will plunge overnight - falling into the 30's and we will see those scattered rain showers change over to snow.  We will likely see our record-setting "Snow Drought" come to an end Friday morning at 291 days since the last measurable snow in Toledo.  This will not be a BIG snow producing storm.  Rather - what will get your attention is the scattered snow showers & flurries coming down sideways with winds gusting to 40MPH.  Snowfall totals will top out at a Dusting in spots to perhaps 2 to 3 inches south and east of Toledo.  The story for your Friday - the 1st official day of Winter as the Winter Solstice starts the winter season at 6:12am, will be the wind and cold.  Highs will not get much above the freezinig mark Friday afternoon.  Combine those temps with winds howling up too 40MPH and Feels-Like Temps will be in the Teens at times Friday afternoon.  It will be a BIG shock to the system.

Any snow showers clear out Friday night and by Saturday some sunshine will break out.  Expect partly cloudy skies both Saturday and Sunday with highs in the mid-30s.

It looks like we could see a White Christmas as the chilly airmass sticks around through all of next week and we will be seeing good chances of scattered snow showers/flurries develop Christmas Eve and Christmas day.  In fact - all of next week we will see a possibility of snow showers/flurries with high temps not getting out of the 30's.

Stay dry today and get ready to bundle up tomorrow and beyond as winter officially and truly arrives with a venegence!
