Update: Mother charged with murder for baby’s head injury death

TOLEDO --  A Toledo mother will face murder charges after police say she threw her six-month-old son, fracturing his skull.

Amanda Bacon, 25, of 504 W. Alexis Road, is being held on $1 million bond. She is currently charged with Felonious Assault and Child Endangering. Police say they will upgrade the charges to include Murder after learning of the boy's death.

Avery Glynn Bacon, six months, was taken by Life Flight to Mott Children's Hospital at the University of Michigan late Monday with severe head injuries. Authorities say his mother threw him against a hard surface before taking him to St. Anne's Hospital Sunday night. The infant died around 11 p.m. Tuesday.

Bacon lists on her Facebook profile that she has one other son. She states that she attended Bryan High School.
