New UTMC cancer center offers more treatment options

new cancer center is being built at the University of Toledo Medical Center, and it intends to take away some of the stress that comes with treatment.

Physicians from Radiation Oncology unveiled some of the state of the art technology in the new two-floor facility yesterday. Two multi-million dollar machines are now going to give patients many more treatment options, including a linear accelerator for radiation therapy. 

Officials say the total cost of the project is about $10 million. The Dana Cancer Center is expected to begin treating patients in early February.
