MAUMEE -- The Lucas County Grand Jury has indicted Dr. Barry P. Deran on thirty felony counts; fifteen counts of Aggravated Trafficking in Drugs and fifteen counts of Aggravated Possession of Drugs.
The Ohio State Board of Pharmacy began their investigation in March 2011 immediately after being notified by the State Medical Board of Ohio that Dr. Deran was possibly obtaining prescription drugs by deception.
Search warrants were served at his office at 5705 Monclova Road in Maumee and at his home in Maumee in February of this year. As a result, numerous prescription drugs, firearms and medical records were seized.
