MONROE COUNTY -- Two motor vehicle crashes early Thanksgiving morning have left two in Monroe County in critical condition.

The Monroe County Sheriff's Office reported Sheryl A. Witfoth, age 37, of Luna Pier, Michigan lost control of her 2007 Chevrolet Impala while traveling northbound on Telegraph Road. The vehicle crossed both lanes of traffic and flipped over after entering a ditch on the west side of the road. The vehicle came to rest, leaning on its passenger side, in a driveway on private property on Telegraph Road.

Witfoth was transported to St. Vincent's Hospital in Toledo, and is currently listed in critical condition.

Rodge Armstrong, age 60, of Monroe, MI was transported to St. Joseph's Hospital in Ann Arbor, MI after losing control of his moped on Plank Road. Armstrong was not wearing a helmet when he was ejected from the moped after losing control along a curve and hitting a ditch.

Both crashes remain under investigation by the Monroe County Sheriff's Office.
