A 9-year-old boy was critically injured, on Thursday night, when he darted into a Fostoria roadway and was hit by a pick-up truck.

The crash happened, around 5:30 p.m., on Columbus Avenue near Lytle Street.

Investigators say 9-year-old Mavin Hamilton ran out from behind a building and was hit by 74-year-old George Tucker's pick-up.

Initially, Hamilton was taken to Fostoria Hospital for treatment but was later air lifted to Toledo Hospital with life threatening injuries.

As of 10 p.m., on Thursday, Hamilton was listed in critical condition.

Tucker, of 141 E. Eagle Street, was not injured in the crash but could face criminal charges as officials believe alcohol may have played a role in the accident.

Ohio State Highway Patrol assisted at the scene with accident reconstruction and continues to investigate the crash.
