SYLVANIA -- After a routine visit with her daughter and grandchildren in Sylvania, 59-year old Catherine Sackrider headed back home to Indiana. It would be the last time her family saw her.

“About three or four days later we found out she never made it to Indiana,” said her brother, Mike Baranek. “We haven’t heard or seen anything from her since.”

Sackrider has been missing since September 18^th, and was last videotaped by a gas station surveillance tape in Lyons the morning of her disappearance.

On Sunday, family and friends gathered in the parking lot at Starlite Plaza on Monroe Street to pass out flyers and photographs, in hopes that someone may have information that can help locate Kathy.

“I’m having a hard time with it,” said Kathy’s Brother Jim Baranek. “At least once a day, I pretty much lose it.”

Six days after Sackrider’s disappearance, police found her blue, 2003 Chevy Silverado in a parking space at Whetstone Park in Sylvania. The vehicle was backed into the space, hiding the distinctive Detroit Red Wings logo on the back window. The only items police found in the truck were Kathy Sackrider’s purse, and a photograph of her late husband.

The family believes getting people to recognize the truck will be the key to obtaining information. A cash reward is also planned in exchange for information.

The family has also partnered with LostNMissing, a non-profit group that helps families cope with a missing loved one.

“She’s really the perfect person, enjoyed helping everybody out, and I miss her terribly,” said Jim Baranek.
