Get used to it
Indian Summer was nice wasn't it? Well, it's long gone now... try to hold onto those memories for a while as we are heading into a very active weather pattern with a lot going on. The bottom line for us will be plenty of wind, rain and cool air through at least Election Day.
As you noted on the way out the door this morning, a cold front has moved through. Widespread morning showers will become more spotty in nature this afternoon. Gusty winds up to 30 MPH will make temps - falling into the lower 50's this afternoon, seem even cooler. It's definitely a slap in the face as late afternoon temps will be 15 - 20 degrees cooler than what we enjoyed just 24 hours ago.
The spotty showers will hold on overnight and into your Saturday morning. It's going to be a chilly start to the day with temps falling into the mid and upper 30's by early Saturday morning. Showers will become less prevalent by afternoon but highs will struggle to get into the lower 50's. Sunday is looking better - but will be even cooler. Expect partly sunny skies with highs in the mid and upper 40's Sunday afternoon.
The nation and especially the East Coast will be keeping a watchful eye on Hurricane Sandy as she moves up the coast over the weekend. We'll likely see Sandy begin to affect us on Monday with some fairly strong winds blowing through the region Monday into Tuesday due to the sheer strength of what will likely become a monster of a storm. Some of that tropical moisture could be thrown our way by Wednesday. Temps will be anything but tropical right through all of next week with highs not even getting to 50 degrees.
So bundle back up, hunker down and have yourself a great weekend.
