DEFIANCE -- Where just a few hours ago, Gov. Mitt Romney made a campaign stop to a large crowd gathered at Defiance High School's football stadium.
While the Republican candidate was the headliner, there were several other famous faces with him. People such as Gov. John Kasich, Senator Rob Portman and big musical names like Meat Loaf and Alabama energizing the crowd.
The mood was extremely high and almost felt like a concert, but when Romney came onto the stage, the festive mood turned serious.
"I just want to hear him reaffirm everything he's been saying, in the debates and everything," Romney supporter Andrew Carpenter said.
The economy was a message many people wanted to hear. Thousands packed the Defiance High School football field to hear the Republican presidential nominee. But, while people were packing the stadium, Obama supporters were outside the the front entrance making sure their message was also heard.
Local UAW worker Joe Eureste says the president's intervention in the car industry helped the local economy of Defiance.
"If we had lost those GM jobs, we would have lost 1.7 million in our salaries." he said.
The GOP ticket isn't going to be gone from Northwest Ohio for long. Romney's running mate, Paul Ryan, is going to be rallying supporters at the University of Findlay on Sunday afternoon.
The event takes place at the Koehler Center. Doors open at 2 p.m. and Congressman Ryan is expected to take the stage around 4 p.m.
