Woman thrown from car in Saturday morning accident

SALEM TOWNSHIP, OTTAWA COUNTY -- An Oak Harbor woman is in the hospital with serious injuries after being thrown from her car.

Highway patrol says Joni Parker was driving south on Woodrick Road near South Cullum Road in Ottawa County. At 1:09 a.m., the car went off the right side of the road, hit a ditch and a utility pole. The impact cut the pole in half and threw Parker several feet away on the road.

The driver was life flighted to the University of Toledo Medical Center. Police believe alcohol was a factor.
