TOLEDO -- West Toledo resident Jerry Piddock joined the US Army shortly after he graduated from high school. In his nearly 20 years in the Army, Piddock has served three overseas deployment. In late September Piddock returned from a deployment to Afghanistan. This past Sunday Piddock and a fellow military buddy were enjoying a meal at the Sidelines restaurant in North Toledo when his 2009 Harley Davidson Street Glide was stolen. "I was in the restaurant for five minutes with a friend who just came back from Afghanistan with me and he went outside to take a call and came back inside to tell me that my bike was gone," Mr. Piddock said.
Piddock immediately called police and later filed a claim with his insurance company. What makes Piddock especially mad is that whoever stole his motorcycle knew that it belonged to a veteran. "I had veteran plates on the back of it and I had a sign that said I served in Iraq," Mr. Piddock said. Anyone who has information on this incident should call CrimeStopper at 419-255-1111.
