The Toledo Museum of Art is about to open a first of its kind exhibit.  It will focus exclusively on Edouard Manet’s and his talent as a portrait painter. The exhibit will showcase 40 paintings as well as photographs on loan from all over the world. Manet painted his family and friends in addition to literary, political and artistic figures often in the course of their real life.

His subjects come to life on the canvas, making the people that see them more curious about the people and their lives. Lawrence Nichols senior curator tells us that “This will be a once in a lifetime exhibit for the Toledo area”.  The exhibit opens to the public on Oct. 7 and tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for seniors and students.
