WHITEHOUSE, OH -- Wheeler Farms aims to raise money for a disorder that affects 1 in 8 million newborns, including two little girls in Lucas County.

The Butterfly House at Wheeler Farms will donate 100% of admissions Saturday, September 8^th to the Progeria (pro-JEER-e-uh) Research Foundation.

Wheeler Farms is inviting the community will come and support children like local 9-year-old Kaylee Halko who has been diagnosed with the rare rapid aging disease. For every year she ages, her body ages 4-7 years. Children with Progeria often struggle from osteoporosis, generalized atherosclerosis, cardiovascular disease and stroke as they get older.

Kaylee has gained local and national attention of Progeria awareness. She has been featured on TLC’s 6 going on 60 and the Dr. Oz Show. In 2011, a second child in Lucas County was diagnosed with the disease. There are an estimated 200-250 children with Progeria worldwide.

Wheeler Farms’ Butterfly House is will open from 10am to 5pm on Saturday. Wheeler Farms asks those who cannot attend to donated to the Progeria Research Foundation.
