One of the largest road projects in Northwest Ohio was opened with an official ribbon cutting ceremony yesterday. But today the highway was open for traffic. The new U.S. 24 linking Waterville and Napoleon had traffic flowing on it this afternoon.

The Ohio Department of Transportation opened the road to drivers this morning. The project cost $400 million but will be worth the decades of effort if it saves lives as expected. Also beginning today is tie in work on the former U.S. 24 between State Route 109 and Town road 10 that will have that area closed thru November.

But as of today the long awaited new U.S. 24 is open and ready for traffic.
