SANDUSKY -- A Sandusky man has pleaded guilty to murdering a Sandusky police officer in March of 2011.

Kevin Randleman changed his plea during a hearing in Erie County court to see if he was competent to be sentenced to death if he was convicted.

After the surprise plea, Randleman was then sentenced to life in prison without parole.

Randleman shot and killed officer Andrew Dunn after Dunn tried to pull him over for not having lights on his bicycle.

Officer Dunn left behind a wife and two children.
