The state has delayed issuing annual school report cards, which will affect dozens of decisions about money, building and program placements and student scholarships.

According to the Associated Press, the unanimous vote Monday by the state board of education will now have its executive committee interview search firms and bring a recommendation to the board. They set a committee meeting for Thursday.

The decision comes amid an attendance-tampering investigation by Ohio Auditor Dave Yost.

Yost launched the statewide probe after irregular enrollment and attendance practices were discovered in Toledo, Columbus, and some Cincinnati districts.
