New U.S. Route 24 losing orange barrels

WATERVILLE, OH -- The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) will begin the process of opening the new U.S. Route 24 alignment Wednesday.

Commuters will have access of U.S. 24 from Waterville to Napoleon. Additionally ramps to and from U.S. 24, and to and from SR 64, SR 295, and SR 109 will open. The new eastbound U.S. 24 at Napoleon will open 6 to 24 hours after the initial opening.

The former U.S. 24 will close August 29th between SR 109 and TR 10 for tie in work through November 2012.

U.S. Route 24 project is expected to be fully completed May 2013.
