TOLEDO -- Funeral arrangements have been made for 1-year-old Keondra Hooks. The infant was shot in the head as she lay asleep on the floor of her family's living room last Thursday night. She died on Friday. A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 6 p.m. at the Tate Funeral Home on Lagrange Street. Keondra's 2-year-old sister Leondra was also shot but she has made significant progress in the hospital this week. Leondra's aunt Bernice Neal says the family expects to bring the child home this week. "Leondra is coming home Thursday, she's up playing, smiling, laughing and talking," Ms. Neal said.
Last Thursday night a barrage of bullets was fired into the Hooks family home at the Moody manor apartments in Central Toledo. Toledo police have not made any arrests in the case and do not have any suspects. Anyone with any information on the case should call CrimeStopper at 419-255-1111.
