MONROE CO. -- The reactor at the Fermi 2 Nuclear Power Plant in Monroe County is back up and running affter a monthlong shutdown.

The plant began generating power around 3:30am Sunday morning. It's expected to be operating at full power by the end of this week.

Fermi 2's reactor was shut down June 25 when a feedwater pump broke down.

It was restarted a week ago, but shut it down within a day when operators noticed a valve wasn't operating correctly.
