DETROIT -- The Michigan Humane Society is offering a $2,500 reward for information about the death of a pit bull terrier found dead in Detroit with a rope around its neck.  The dog was discovered on Detroit's northwest side last week.

The letters "PBS" were spray-painted in white on the dog's left side, with other markings painted on its back, sides and legs.

So far the humane society has no leads. A necropsy is expected to determine the cause of death.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Michigan Humane Society's Cruelty Hotline at 313-872-3401.
