TYLER COUNTY, WEST VIRGINIA -- Michigan State Police have confirmed the man suspected of shooting and killing two women in Blissfield has died.

Thomas Fritz took his own life by self inflicted gun shot wound after US Marshals had surrounded a cabin where the suspect was hiding on Tuesday.

The property is located in the woods near Cow House Road in Sistersville.

Marshals were dispatched to the area after getting a tip from officers in Michigan that 38-year-old Thomas Fritz was hiding out in that area. While combing the area, Marshals and officers from several other agencies observed Fritz run into a cabin. They say a single gunshot was heard coming from within that structure within minutes.

Fritz is accused of killing two sisters, Lisa Gritzmaker and Amy Merrill on Friday night. He's also accused of shooting the sisters' mother.

Previous reports indicated that Fritz may be headed to the Cleveland area and should be considered armed and dangerous.
