FREMONT -- Two Fremont residents are facing child endangerment charges after police say they left their 1 year old nephew alone in a car on Saturday when temperatures reached near 100 degrees.

Officers were called out to the Wal-mart parking lot around 2:50 Saturday afternoon after someone saw the child in the car.

They were able to get the child out and put him in their cruiser as they tried to find who was responsible for the child.

Police say 28-year-old David Gibbs and 22-year-old Jamie Miller eventually returned to the car.

They told officers they accidentally left the boy in the car.

The child was not harmed but officers reported that it was extremely hot in the vehicle.
