PORT CLINTON -- Gov. John Kasich plans to officially back the federal ban on Lake Erie drilling on Wednesday.
According to the Associated Press, it's a move traditionally made by governors, but not one that was made by former Gov. Ted Strickland.
His signature means a state directive will reinforce the existing federal ban.
Gov. Kasich will sign the executive order today during the Fish Ohio Day in Port Clinton.
