Findlay Damage

Powerful storms packing 80 to 90 mph winds ripped through Defiance, Henry, Paulding and Putnam counties late Friday afternoon uprooting trees, knocking down power lines and damaging homes

The storms gained strength across Indiana; Fort Wayne Airport had a measured wind speed of 91 mph. Around 3 pm the storms crossed into Northwest Ohio.  Findlay suffered the most damage.  Many trees and power lines were knocked down. A tree fell onto a house that ignited a fire in the attic.  Crews responded quickly and were able to put the fire out.

For any residents in Hancock County who are unable to stay in their homes the Red Cross has set up a shelter at 339 Melrose in Findlay.
