COLUMBUS -- The investigation into a cancer cluster in Clyde could take a hit under Ohio's cancer control program's four year plan.

The head of the program wants to focus on cancer prevention and early detection and to avoid using resources to investigate geographic locations that report higher-than-expected numbers of cancer cases.

RobertIindian says those investigations take time and money and often times don't yield results.

The state and federal EPA have been investigating the Clyde cancer cluster for several years.

So far no one has found a cause of the 35 child cancer cases since 1996 in a 12 mile wide circle just south of Lake Erie.
