BEAVERDAM -- A three day old infant is dead after the little girl was attacked by the family's dog in their Allen County home.
Investigators say Makayla Darnell was sitting in a swing in a different room when the dog which appears to be a pit bull mix attacked the infant Thursday at the home on North Thayer Road near Beaverdam..
The baby's parents were in a different room and say they did not hear any noises from the dog or the infant. Makayla was airlifted to a Toledo hospital where she died.
The dog is now in the custody of the Allen County Dog Warden.
