TOLEDO -- Lawyers for one of the men charged in the deaths of a Springfield Township couple last January has asked the Ohio Supreme Court for a new judge in the case.

On Monday, 22-year-old Cameo Pettaway's lawyers filed an affidavit saying the disqualification of Judge James Bates was necessary for Pettaway to have a fair trial.

Pettaway and co-defendant Samual Williams are accused of breaking into a home, using duct tape to restrain Johnny Clarke and Lisa Straub and then suffocating them to death by putting plastic bags over their heads.

Both trials will start in two weeks.
