Freezer baby suspect pleads not guilty

TOLEDO -- A Toledo woman charged with murder for putting an infant in a freezer has claimed her innocence.

20-year-old Kenisha Pruitt has pleaded not guilty to charges of aggravated murder, murder, abuse of a corpse and tampering with evidence.  Pruitt faces life in prison if convicted.

Toledo Police say Pruitt and 18-year-old Antonio Cervantes put the baby in the freezer of an East Toledo home.

The coroner says the baby was born full term and was alive for only a couple of days,.

Cervantes is also facing charges in the case.
