TOLEO -- Anyone who fell in love with the "Suitcase Six" bulldog puppies will be happy to know they will soon be available for adoption.

The Toledo Area Humane Society will begin accepting adoption applications on their website starting at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 11. The application window closes at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 16.

Interested individuals or families can also submit applications at TAHS, located at 1920 Indian Wood Circle in Maumee.

"Because there has been such an interest in this case and such an outpouring of people wanting to adopt the puppies or their mom, we've come up with a process that we think is as fair as possible in this situation," said John Dinon, Executive Director of TAHS.

Upon closing of the application acceptance timeframe, the TAHS will do a random drawing to determine which applicants will be contacted. Potential adopters whose applications have been drawn will be notified on Friday, May 18 that they have been selected to come in and meet the puppies or momma dog.

Potential adopters whose names have been drawn must be able to come to TAHS during business hours on Tuesday, May 22 in order to adopt.

Potential adopters will be required to complete the adoption process based on Toledo Area Humane Society's guidelines and policies. TAHS says  just because an application has been drawn does not automatically guarantee that the applicant will be approved to adopt one of the dogs.
