Land on the Maumee River in downtown Toledo will be the home of the next Metropark.

TOLEDO -- The first downtown Metropark is one step closer to reality.

Members of the Rotary Club of Toledo are celebrating the 100th anniversary of their club by donating $300,000 toward the development of Middlegrounds Metropark in downtown Toledo.

The celebration takes place on Thursday at the future site of the park. Toledo Mayor Mike Bell and Marcy Kaptur will be at the event for the club's announcement.
