CINCINNATI -- A Cincinnati area man will only have to spend a month in jail for putting his 12 year old daughter in a dog cage.

41-year old James Tapke pleaded guilty to duct taping his daughters hands and feet and shutting her in the cage in January as punishment.

Police say the girl spent only minutes in the cage and was not injured.

Tapke's attorney says Tapke claimed it was a joke that got out of hand.

The girl lives with her paternal grandparents and Tapke has no custody rights.
