Honor Flight takes to the skies for 2012 season

TOLEDO -- The first Honor Flight of the season takes off Wednesday morning with 80 World War II veterans on board.

Since Honor Flight began in 2008, almost 900 veterans have made the journey to Washington D.C. to visit war memorials.

Those interested in making a donation to Honor Flight can head over to Swanton High School on Wednesday night for the second annual Taco Night fundraiser.

The dinner costs $6 per person and runs from 5 to 8 p.m in the Swanton High cafeteria. All proceeds go directly to Honor Flight of Northwest Ohio.
