TOLEDO -- Convicted nun killer, Fr. Gerald Robinson is making another appeal for a new trial.

Robinson's attorney wants a state appeals court to throw out the priest's 2006 conviction because police reports discovered after his trial could have changed the outcome.

A county judge ruled in January those police reports didn't contain any relevant information.  But the priest's lawyer says those reports show that authorities failed to pursue the most obvious suspect - serial killer Coral Eugene Watts.

They say Watts was a free man when sister Margaret Ann Pahl was murdered at the Mercy Hospital chapel in 1980.

The appeal claims Robinson's initial trial attorneys mistakenly thought Watts was in prison when the nun was murdered.  Watts was believed to be responsible for as many as 80 murders.  Robinson is serving life prison.

Do you think Father Robinson deserves a new trial?  Do you think Watts could have killed Sister Pahl?  Post your comments below or on WNWO's Facebook Fanpage.
