Teen accused of killing man in field pleads not guilty

TOLEDO -- Three months after the body of 23-year-old Rory Hunter was found in an East Toledo field, the accused teen shooter's day in court has been set.

The trial date for 16-year-old Jacob Rodriguez was set for May 7 in Lucas County Common Pleas Court on Wednesday. He will be tried as an adult.

Rodriguez pleaded not guilty to the charges against him, including one count each of murder, felonious assault and aggravated robbery. He faces up to life in prison if convicted.

Devon Daly, 18, and Rodriguez are accused of shooting Hunter to death in January. Daly's trial has also been set for May 7.
