A golden retriever's motherly instincts took hold when one of her puppies fell into a pool and couldn't get out.

Check out the video posted to YouTube. 

When the mama dog sees her puppy in distress she jumps into the pool, swims over and uses her body and nose to push the pup closer to the edge of the pool.

The dog then swims around the pool, gets out, goes to the other side and pulls the puppy out of the pool.

The clip has been viewed more than 300,000 times since it was posted last week. But while many viewers are charmed by the adorable dogs, others are questioning why the person shooting the video didn't stop to help. One post even suggests that the dogs be moved to another home.
