SPRINGFIELD TWP. -- State Highway Patrol is investigating a two vehicle head-on crash that sent three people--including an infant--to the hospital.

Around 9:50 p.m., Loretta M. Parenteau, 32, attempted to go south on McCord Road by pulling into the northbound lane and was struck by a vehicle driven by Megan Taylor, 21.

Parenteau, who was not wearing her seat belt, was trapped in the vehicle and had to be extricated by the Springfield Township Fire Department. She was transported to the University of Toledo Medical Center. Her injuries are unknown but troopers report they are not life-threatening.

Taylor was also not wearing a seat belt and sustained serious injuries. She was taken to UTMC.

Taylor's son, who troopers report was properly secured in a safety belt, was transported by a family member to Toledo Hospital as a precaution. He was treated and released.

Charges are pending and the crash remains under investigation.
