Mich. woman escapes attempted abduction, suspect on the loose

FRENCHTOWN TWP., MICH. -- Michigan state police are investigating an attempted abduction that occured on Newport Road on Friday night.

The victim reported she was walking along the road around 11:50 p.m. when a motorist pulled over and asked if she needed assistance. The woman declined and the motorist drove off.

A short time later, the motorist returned and quickly jumped out of his vehicle and grabbed her arm. A struggle ensued and the suspect punched the victim in the face.

The victim said she was able to run away and that the suspect drove off. She described the suspect as a white male with short brown hair, around 5' 8"-5' 9" tall and 180 pounds. He is believed to be in his mid-30s and he wore glasses.

The suspect's vehicle is described as a black, extended cab pick up truck with white-colored dice hanging from the rearview mirror.
